[Report] The 1st Stakeholder Panel Committee Meeting for FY2024 was held.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, JaCER conducted its first Stakeholder Panel Committee meeting of FY2024 online. The Stakeholder Panel is supposed to provide recommendations and advice on the overall operations of the Organization, including the operation of the dialogue and remedy platform, from each stakeholder's perspective and from the viewpoint of enhancing the effectiveness of the operations. This time, the members of the Panel particularly concentrated on how the closing of cases should be handled.

 

The main comments and opinions are as follows:

  1. 1. Comments on the management of the Organization
  • - The need for disclosure of information on suppliers.

 

  1. 2. Follow-up on the discussion on neutrality
  • - Monitoring of compliance with integrity policies, recognition of violations, and penalties should be considered in the future.

 

  1. 3. Discussion on how the closing process should be
  • - It is important whether the complainant is satisfied or not.
  • - There is a limit to the response based on a company's good faith.
  • - There is room for improvement in the closing report.
  • - It is important to reduce human rights risks.
  • - This matter will continue to be discussed.

 

JaCER will consider and implement the suggestions received with the aim of establishing a more reliable and effective complaint handling platform.
